Living Spaces

In renovating this 1920s Colonial, our goal was to preserve its character and authenticity while making thoughtful updates for modern living. The kitchen renovation focused on honoring the home’s original charm, carefully selecting materials and finishes that felt true to its era while improving functionality. Every detail was chosen to blend seamlessly with the home’s history, creating a space that feels both timeless and inviting. The powder bath offered a special surprise—while exploring the basement, we discovered the original corner sink, long forgotten. Rather than replacing it, we had it carefully restored and reinstalled, bringing a piece of the home’s past back to life in a way that felt both intentional and meaningful. Throughout the project, we prioritized preservation over reinvention. In the living room, we encouraged the homeowners to keep the original sconces, which add a layer of warmth and history that new fixtures simply couldn’t replicate. Aside from a fresh coat of paint to highlight the exquisite millwork, the space was left largely untouched—proving that sometimes, the best design choice is knowing when to leave something just as it is.

I feel incredibly lucky that Caroline and I crossed paths – no matter the subject, she always added value with her insights. She is extremely creative, detail oriented, and was able to visualize what I often struggled to articulate. I wouldn’t embark on another project without her help!
