This home was reimagined with the future in mind. The homeowner wanted to age in place, but with no bedrooms on the main level, the existing layout wasn’t ideal. Partnering with Open Door Architecture, we helped design a thoughtful addition that seamlessly integrates a new primary suite, complete with a bedroom, bathroom, and spacious closet, as well as a conveniently located laundry room—all on the main level for long-term accessibility. Bringing the outdoors in was a top priority, so we drew inspiration from nature’s palette, selecting warm, earthy tones that create a sense of calm and connection to the surrounding landscape. Throughout the home, we thoughtfully incorporated the client’s beloved antique pieces, blending old and new for a timeless, collected feel. The new laundry room features a custom ironing board niche, adding both charm and practicality, while the primary bath is a true retreat. A custom walnut vanity and a deep soaking tub—perfectly positioned to take in views of the lush backyard—make this space feel like a sanctuary. With every detail, this renovation was designed to honor the past, enhance daily living, and ensure the home remains a comfortable haven for years to come.
